"Bad timing made the confusing communication even worse"
The timing probably didn’t help, but the communication was really frustrating. The emails were hard to understand, and whenever I reached out to support, it felt like they kept avoiding my actual questions instead of giving me a straight answer.

"Refund took forever and caused unnecessary stress"
I booked through wotif.com and ended up having to cancel, thinking the refund would be straightforward. It was supposed to be quick, but it dragged on for weeks and I had to follow up more than once just to get things moving. it turned into way more stress than I expected for something that should’ve been simple. It felt like they kept putting it off, and I’m really not happy with the experience. I won’t be using them again.

I booked a hotel through Wotif and at first the price seemed decent. I’ve used a few travel booking sites before, so I know there can be the odd fee here and there, but these extra charges only really became obvious later in the checkout process. By the time I actually paid, it didn’t feel like the deal I thought I was getting. The site itself was easy enough to use, but I really think the fees should be shown more clearly upfront. Bit frustrating, and I probably wouldn’t use it again unless I had no other option.

I booked a hotel through wotif and got the confirmation email quickly, so I assumed everything was locked in. I expected it to be the usual smooth process where you just show up and check in without any drama.

When I got to the hotel, they told me they couldn’t find any booking under my name. After travelling, that was the last thing I wanted to deal with, and I ended up waiting around while they contacted support to figure it out.

It was sorted eventually, but it definitely didn’t match what I expected from getting a confirmed booking. I’d be hesitant to rely on the confirmation email now unless wotif can make sure the hotel actually receives the booking

"Canceled and got stuck paying fees"
I had to cancel my booking and was frustrated by how strict the whole process was. I get that policies exist, but the fees felt excessive, especially since I wasn’t trying to be difficult. What annoyed me even more was the response I got after reaching out — just one of those canned apologies that sounds like nobody actually read what happened. Not a great experience.

"Confusing updates made it stressful"
I booked through Wotif and the email and SMS updates were all over the place. One message would say one thing, then another would seem to say something different, so I kept second-guessing my booking. I even found myself rechecking the dates and confirmation details a few times because I didn’t fully trust the updates. I tried booking a hotel on Wotif.com using a discount code, but it kept saying it wasn’t valid no matter what I did. What made it worse was finding the same hotel cheaper on another site anyway. "Rewards just aren’t worth the hassle"
I’ve booked through Wotif a handful of times because I figured the rewards would eventually turn into something decent, but they barely added up to anything and every time I tried to actually use them it felt more annoying than helpful.

The prices didn’t seem any better than booking straight with the hotel, the reward rules felt like they were designed to make you give up, and after trying to stick with it for a while I just don’t see any real reason to be loyal

I booked a place that was showing as available, and then later got told it actually wasn’t. Like, am I wrong for thinking that if a room is listed as available, I should be able to book it? It ended up being a complete waste of time, and by then prices had gone up everywhere else. Really frustrating, and I don’t think I’ll trust Wotif.com’s availability again.

"Looked cheaper than it really was"
At first, this hotel seemed cheaper than a lot of the other options I was comparing, so I thought I found a good deal. But once I got to checkout, extra fees popped up and the price wasn’t nearly as appealing anymore. It felt misleading, especially when other places were more upfront about the total cost. I probably wouldn’t trust their listed prices again.

"I had a problem with a hotel..."
I had a problem with a hotel booking and contacted Wotif to sort it out. They did get back to me, but I felt like I had to keep following up just to know what was going on. When it’s a booking issue, I don’t really like being left unsure because there’s always that worry it could mess up the trip or cost extra. In the end, the complaint was resolved, but it took much longer than I expected. Not the worst outcome, but definitely not a great experience

"The filters were kind of frustrating"
The search itself was fine, I guess, but the filters really got on my nerves. I’d put in the dates I wanted and set a price range, thinking okay, this should narrow things down, and then I’d still see hotels that didn’t fit what I chose. So I kept having to go back, check the filters again, adjust things, search again, and it just felt like I was doing more work than I should’ve been. It’s not a terrible site or anything, but when the filters don’t actually filter properly, it ends up wasting a lot of time.

I wasn’t expecting a perfect outcome, but I did think they’d handle the refund a bit more reasonably. In the end, they kept my money, and let’s just say it didn’t exactly feel like the fairest way to treat a customer
